Q: What’s the difference between counselling and therapy?
A: Counselling often focuses on current challenges, while therapy may explore deeper, long-term patterns. At Very Therapy, we integrate both — helping you heal, understand yourself, and move forward with confidence
Q: How do I know if I need therapy?
A: If you’re feeling like everything maybe to much, anxious thoughts, feeling stuck, overwhelmed, emotional or looking for personal growth, purpose or to make life changes - therapy can help. You don’t have to wait until things feel unmanageable — support can start at any stage.
Q: What happens in a counselling session?
A: Sessions are confidential and focused on what you need in that. You’ll have time to talk freely about what’s going on, explore emotions, we can work on focused issues or just see where the sessions takes us with no pressure but knowing focused on helping you (not sure how? I can help guide as well).
A: Yes — everything you share remains private. The only exception is if there’s a risk of serious harm to the client or others, or to comply with a court order, child abuse, or other illegal activities like drug trafficking or terrorism. in which case we’d discuss next steps together.
Q: Is therapy confidential?
Q: What if I don’t know what to say or get emotional?
A: That’s completely okay. Some people come with lists and some don't know where to start, there is no expectations or right/wrong way. — we go at your pace, and emotions are always welcome no judgements at all. Lets be honest if you cant get emotional in a therapy session then where can you?
Q: How do I know if you are the right counsellor for me?

Q: What’s the difference between a counsellor, psychotherapist and psychiatrist?

Q: Does online counselling really work?
A: Yes — research shows it’s as effective as face-to-face therapy. It’s private, flexible and ideal if you prefer to speak from home or a place of your choice, the only thing we would need is that you are in a place where no one else can hear you and you feel safe.
Q: Is online counselling confidential and secure?
A: Absolutely. Sessions are held via encrypted, professional platforms. Your privacy is protected at every step.
A: That can be normal at first! Most clients relax quickly. You can even choose voice only calls

A: Yes — we'll explore the roots of your anxiety, what it feels like for you, how it impacts your day to day and create induvial ways that are tailored just for you. our aim is to help you regain control and calm when everything may feel overwhelming and exhausting.
Q: Can therapy help with trauma or PTSD?
A: Definitely. We use trauma-informed approaches to ensure you feel safe, supported and empowered as you heal.
A: Yes. Very Therapy specialises in phobia programmes, helping you to take control back of your thoughts and life, our programmes comes from years of working with people who have extreme fears and helping them to be free from them, we proudly do not use exposure therapy but more focus on you and getting you internally strong and getting results.
Q: Can therapy help with phobias like emetophobia or acrophobia?

A: Yes — therapy helps to gain control back, whilst healing what may have drove you to the addiction in the first place, instead of generic tools we will establish unique ways especially for you designed for at you're pace. Maybe your addicted to alcohol, drugs, gaming, sex , shopping or something else, we are here to help, this is there as your safety mechanism and we respect that and do it to a way that works for you whilst getting results.
Q: Can you support me through bereavement, endings or loss ?
A: Yes, this is something Very Therapy specialise in. From sudden or expected death, miscarriages, or endings of jobs, relationships, home. We can help hold you and find a way to manage emotions and make sense of things that feel overwhelming or stuck.
Q: What if therapy didn’t help before?
A: Many clients come to us after previous therapy and find progress with a fresh approach. Every therapist and relationship is different — it’s never too late to try again.

Q: How do I prepare for my first session?

Q: What if I don’t know what to say or get emotional?
A: Just bring yourself. We’ll talk about what brings you here and what you hope to achieve. You don’t need to plan anything (unless you want to).
Q: How long will I need therapy?
A: It varies — some benefit after a few months, others prefer ongoing support. We review progress regularly so you’re always in control.
Q: What approaches do you use?
A: We use an integrative approach, blending person-centred, CBT, solution focused therapy, TA and trauma-informed techniques — tailored and unique to you and what you need in the session.

A: Therapy isn’t about telling you what to do — it’s about helping you find your own answers and confidence in a way that empowers you to know.

Yes! we often help support the bridge of waiting lists with Cahms (Children's Mental Health) and NHS talking therapies, we can help support NOW! with counselling, therapy or coaching we can adapt to what you need now! This usually results in clients no longer needing the service by the time they get their appointment.
Q: Do you offer online support for ADHD ?
Yes! we have many clients who have ADHD who has benefited from our services, whilst we can not diagnose, we can offer tailored sessions to support the way you experience ADHD and the right focus for you.

A: Yes — this is your confidential, judgement-free space to share whatever you need. Sometimes people can find it easier as a counsellor we do not know your friends, family, workplace so there is less worry of feeling like they may find out or being a burden to others, we are trained for this.
