World Suicide Prevention Day: You Are Not Alone 💛

Every year on 10th September, people around the world come together to mark World Suicide Prevention Day. It’s a day to raise awareness, remember those we’ve lost, and remind anyone who is struggling that there is hope, help, and support available.

Why Suicide Prevention Matters

Suicide is one of the leading causes of death globally, yet it’s often surrounded by silence, shame, and misunderstanding. Many people who experience suicidal thoughts feel isolated, believing no one could understand what they’re going through. The truth is, you are not alone.

Even when life feels overwhelming, there are people who care and safe spaces where you can be heard without judgement. Reaching out can feel daunting—but talking about your feelings can be the first step towards relief and recovery.

It’s Okay to Not Be Okay

At Very Therapy, we know that pain doesn’t always show on the outside. You might be smiling with friends, holding things together at work, or taking care of family, while inside you feel like you’re breaking. Please know this: your struggles are valid, your feelings matter, and you deserve support.

If you’re finding life hard right now, it’s okay to:

✨ Share your feelings with someone you trust

✨ Reach out to a professional for confidential support

✨ Take small steps each day, even if it’s just getting through the next hour

✨ Remind yourself that suicidal thoughts do not define who you are—they are a sign you need care and compassion, not shame

How We Can All Help

Suicide prevention isn’t just about professional support. It’s something we can all be part of. Sometimes, a simple “How are you, really?” can open the door to an honest conversation. Listening without judgement can save lives.

If you’re worried about someone you love:

💛 Let them know you’re there for them

💛 Encourage them to talk about their feelings

💛 Remind them that help is available

💛 Stay connected—small check-ins make a big difference

Finding Support

If you’re struggling with suicidal thoughts, please know you don’t have to face them alone. Talking to a therapist can help you feel heard, understood, and supported in building a way forward.

At Very Therapy, we provide a safe, confidential space for you to explore your feelings and find hope again. Whether you’re coping with suicidal thoughts, depression, trauma, or anxiety—we’re here to walk alongside you.
